Throughout my 16 year career in Independent Senior Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care, I have discovered the greatest passion and compassion for our country’s richest history. It is such a pleasure to be surrounded by individuals who show such a zest for life and who live each moment to the fullest.
It is our desire here at Platinum Living Services to be inspirational and dedicated to each of our residents and encourage them to live life to the fullest. We pride ourselves on excellent resident care and our compassionate team members.
I see firsthand how quickly our new residents realize that our communities environments allow for families to feel at ease and residents to feel secure while having the ability to thrive. Our residents find that their lives change significantly when their activities of daily living needs are met. It is an exciting time when our residents start meeting new friends, building new relationships, discovering new hobbies and attending new social functions that they didn’t realize they would enjoy.
It is so fulfilling to know that every day I have the opportunity to touch someone’s life. There is nothing better than being in an environment where I am surrounded by our amazing residents and dedicated team members. You can feel it in the air from the minute you walk into our communities, they feel like home.
We are so thankful for the opportunity to touch those lives that need us the most. We will continue to do our best and create environments that allow our residents to live life to the fullest.
Arend started his career in Philips’s research labs in Europe (1983). He ended up being responsible for 1 BLN $ revenue for Philips high technology products in North America. He then left Philips to become CEO for a wireless technology company Diablo Research in Silicon Valley (1998), which after a successful turnaround, was acquired by Cadence, a public listed company (1999).
He continued working in technology companies and as an investment banker with VFinance was the principal banker on several transactions. He also was involved in the assessment of several business plans for Draper Fisher Jurvetson, a major venture capital group. As a result, Arend was appointed CEO of the Cluster Competitiveness Group (2006), a Barcelona-based International Consulting Company focused on economic development. Following that, he became CEO of BHOLD (2010), a software company in The Netherlands, and after a turnaround, he oversaw the acquisition of that software by Microsoft. He then co-founded and became CEO of a next-generation Identity and Access Management software company IDdriven (2013) and listed it as a public company on the OTC market in the USA.
In 2019, Arend made a career switch to the world of senior care. He worked in various roles in assisted living and memory care facilities to thoroughly understand all different facets. He then became the Executive Director and Administrator for Gladding Ridge in Lincoln, CA. An assisted living and memory care community for about 50 residents. Next, he was asked to make a transfer to a larger facility, and currently is the Executive Director and Administrator for Oakwood Village in Auburn, CA, an assisted living and memory care community licensed for 124 beds. He is also responsible for Timberline Villa’s, a senior community for independent living with 25 single-family homes, located adjacent to Oakwood Village.
During his career, Arend has traveled extensively both in Europe and Asia. Arend is a very hands-on person and enjoys working on his RV and cars.
Arend has a master’s in Mechanical Engineering and Metallurgy from the Technical University in Twente, The Netherlands, and an MBA from the William E Simon School of business administration at the University of Rochester, in Rochester, NY.

Jackie was born and raised in Utah. She moved to North Dakota with her husband for 11 and a half years when she decided to return back to Utah. She has 3 children, 3 grandchildren and is expecting 2 more in a few weeks! She also has 2 fur babies, a Great Dane and a Doberman Pincher. They keep her plenty busy! Hawaii is her Hakuna-metadata place so tries to travel there once a year. Jackie is thrilled to be working in our community!
My journey started with our Platinum family in February 2013. After working 20+ years in the dental field, I developed a strong compassion for our country’s richest history. I began to realize that my passion was working one-on-one with our world’s most precious asset, our seniors. I had the opportunity to work as a Med tech in our Auburn community and knew from day one that this was my true calling. It has been such a great journey here with our Platinum team and I would not change it for the world. I currently oversee our six-bed board and care and also work hand-in-hand with our Assisted Living Communities, providing guidance and support to our amazing team.
Resident care, security, comfort, and vitality are my focus. Making sure that we are providing the best care to each of our residents is the goal I set for each community. Knowing that every day we touch lives that need us the most fills my heart with joy. Whether I am reviewing a med package, providing a helping hand in care, training one of our newest team members or just relaxing, talking about the good ol’ days with one of our residents, you will find me with a smile on my face. The most exciting part of my journey with our Platinum family is the time I get to spend with each of our communities. It is an honor to help with our care growth and be the support of some of the most brilliant care teams in the Northern California Region.
I also get the joy of supporting our six-bed community, Hampshire Manor, located in a beautiful well-established, quaint Roseville neighborhood. The greatest reward that you can give yourself is the ability to wake up every single day knowing your purpose and your intent. I welcome you to come in and see what we have to offer. Here at Hampshire Manor, we are all family, and there is no better reward than the beautiful smile on the face of our world's greatest treasure.
